Das Ger\u00e4t ist so kompakt, dass es sich in Smartphones der n\u00e4chsten Generation integrieren liesse.<\/p>\n<h2>Schl\u00fcssel Schwarzer Phosphor<\/h2>\n<p>Werden Gase mit infrarotem Licht bestrahlt, absorbieren diese einen Teil der Lichtfrequenzen. Aus dem, was \u00fcbrig bleibt, l\u00e4sst sich die Zusammensetzung des Gases ermitteln. Kommt Infrarotlicht unterschiedlicher Frequenzen zum Einsatz, werden unterschiedliche Gase identifizierbar. \u00abUm das zu erreichen, haben wir eine d\u00fcnne Schicht aus Kristallen des Schwarzen Phosphors auf einer flexiblen Unterlage abgeschieden\u00bb, sagt Kenneth Crozier von der University of Melbourne.<\/p>\n<p>Je nach Biegezustand emittieren die Phosphorkristalle Infrarotlicht unterschiedlicher Frequenzen, die sich an das vermutete Gas anpassen lassen &#8211; verdorbenes Fleisch, Leder und Methan, das in Kohlebergwerken entstehen kann, lassen sich mit unterschiedlichen Frequenzen detektieren. \u00abWir erreichen tats\u00e4chlich starke Frequenzver\u00e4nderungen, wenn wir das winzige Pl\u00e4ttchen verbiegen\u00bb, erg\u00e4nzt Ali Javey von der University of California in Berkeley.<\/p>\n<h2>F\u00fcr Fleischesser und Feuerwehr<\/h2>\n<p>Den Wissenschaftlern nach liesse sich ein solches Ger\u00e4t in einen K\u00fchlschrank integrieren. Es w\u00fcrde Alarm ausl\u00f6sen, wenn es die Gase erkennt, die typisch sind f\u00fcr verdorbenes Fleisch.
