Das ungeborene Kind davor zu sch\u00fctzen, ist eine der Aufgaben der Plazenta, eine Barriere, die Giftstoffe \u00abherausfiltert\u00bb, den F\u00f6tus gleichzeitig aber mit den notwendigen N\u00e4hrstoffen versorgt. Es gibt allerdings in den letzten Jahren immer mehr Belege daf\u00fcr, dass die Plazentaschranke nicht 100%-ig dicht ist und dass gewisse <a href=\"https:\/\/news.save.ch\/sicher-arbeiten-mit-nanomaterialien\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nanopartikel<\/a> die Barriere \u00fcberwinden k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n<p>Nanopartikel halten in immer mehr Lebensbereiche Einzug. Sie sch\u00fctzen in Sonnencr\u00e8me vor <a href=\"https:\/\/news.save.ch\/hautkrebsrisiko-steigt-auch-ohne-sonnenbrand\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sonnenbrand<\/a>, sorgen daf\u00fcr, dass Streuw\u00fcrze nicht verklumpt, machen Regenjacken wasserdicht und sollen k\u00fcnftig Medikamente an den richtigen Ort im K\u00f6rper transportieren. \u00abSchwangere sind zwar im Moment noch keinen problematischen Mengen an Nanopartikel ausgesetzt, in der Zukunft w\u00e4re das aufgrund der immer weiteren Verbreitung der winzigen Teilchen aber durchaus denkbar\u00bb, meint Tina B\u00fcrki aus der Abteilung \u00abParticles-Biology Interactions\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Um eine sichere Entwicklung von <a href=\"https:\/\/news.save.ch\/who-sucht-nanomaterial-experten-fuer-neue-schutzrichtlinien\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nanopartikeln<\/a> in verschiedensten Anwendungsbereichen zu erm\u00f6glichen, m\u00fcssen die Aufnahmemechanismen von Nanopartikeln an der Plazentaschranke sowie deren Auswirkungen auf Mutter, Plazenta und F\u00f6tus genauer erforscht werden. Gr\u00f6sse, Ladung, chemische Zusammensetzung und Form der Nanopartikel k\u00f6nnten zum Beispiel einen Einfluss darauf haben, ob sie die Plazentaschranke durchdringen k\u00f6nnen und welche Wege sie dabei nehmen. Diese Forschung steckt allerdings derzeit noch in den Kinderschuhen. Da die Funktion und Struktur der menschlichen Plazenta einzigartig ist, sind Studien an schwangeren S\u00e4ugetieren problematisch und wenig aussagekr\u00e4ftig. Bisherige Modelle der menschlichen Plazentaschranke sind entweder sehr zeitaufw\u00e4ndig oder stark vereinfacht.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ein 3D-Modell der menschlichen Plazentaschranke<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Gerne nutzt man f\u00fcr solche Untersuchungen eine gespendete Plazenta, die nach der Geburt des Kindes per Kaiserschnitt entnommen wird. Sie wird schnellstm\u00f6glich an eine Perfusionsanlage angeschlossen, die das Gewebe mit N\u00e4hrstoffen und Sauerstoff versorgt. Dieses Gewebemodell ist zwar das genauste, also das klinisch relevanteste Modell, es ist aber technisch auch sehr anspruchsvoll und zeitlich limitiert auf sechs bis acht Stunden Perfusionszeit.
