Die Resultate wurden im &#8222;Journal of the American Geriatrics Society&#8220; ver\u00f6ffentlicht.<\/p>\n<p>Tai Chi ist eine alte chinesische Sportart, bei der fliessende Bewegungsabl\u00e4ufe praktiziert werden. Die harmonischen Bewegungen \u00fcben die Beweglichkeit und die Ganzk\u00f6rperkoordination. Verschiedene Studien haben gezeigt, dass Tai Chi ein effizientes Training zur Verbesserung des Gleichgewichts und der Beweglichkeit bei \u00e4lteren Personen darstellt. Daraus kann abgeleitet werden, dass regelm\u00e4ssiges Tai-Chi-Traning helfen kann, St\u00fcrze zu verhindern. Diese sind bei Senioren f\u00fcr einen grossen Teil der Unfalltoten verantwortlich.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Erfolgreicher als Physiotherapie<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Studienautor Rafael Lomas-Vega von der Universit\u00e4t Ja\u00e9n in Spanien hat mit seinen Kollegen die medizinische Literatur nach relevanten Studien abgesucht. Das Team fand zehn randomisierte Versuchsstudien, welche den Effekt von Tai Chi mit demjenigen anderen Behandlungsmethoden auf das Sturzrisiko verglich. Darunter fanden sich\u00a0etwa Physiotherapie oder Gymnastik.<\/p>\n<p>Es zeigte sich, dass Tai Chi die Sturzrate kurzfristig um 43% verringern konnte, verglichen mit anderen Behandlungsans\u00e4tzen. Bei St\u00fcrzen mit Verletzungsfolge lag die Riskioreduktion gar bei 50%. Die Teilnehmer trainierten daf\u00fcr ein bis drei Mal pro Woche jeweils eine Stunde.
