1st Perimeter Protection Congress in Nuremberg

With the Perimeter Protection Congress, a new congress format of the Perimeter Protection security trade fair will celebrate its premiere in 2026. The two-day event will take place on 22 and 23 April 2026 at the Exhibition Center Nuremberg and complements the international trade fair with an in-depth content forum and the strategic classification of current developments relating to the protection of critical infrastructures and modern security architectures.

Under the title «The new dimension - the digital twin in perimeter protection», the congress is part of the events surrounding the Perimeter Protection trade fair. The aim is to examine and classify current regulatory, technological and organizational developments in perimeter protection in a practical way.

Program focus: Regulation, technology and implementation

The program of the Perimeter Protection Congress is dedicated to the central topics that are currently moving and significantly shaping the security industry. In particular, the focus is on the KRITIS umbrella law, which, as a new legal basis, brings with it considerable requirements for operators of critical infrastructures.
Prof. Dr. Clemens Gause, Managing Director of the German Security Technology Association, explains: «The fact that the KRITIS umbrella law has now officially come into force sends a strong and positive signal to the entire security industry. However, the crucial question remains: How can the law now be implemented in practice?»

In addition to the legal framework, the congress also addresses the technological drivers of perimeter security. These include BIM (Building Information Modeling) and 3D-based planning models, which open up new possibilities in planning, simulation and ongoing security operations thanks to digitally precise images. Also on the agenda are biometric processes that set new standards in access control and identity management, as well as NIS 2 with its Europe-wide requirements for cyber and information security.

The top-class congress program will be complemented by an exclusive table-top exhibition in which 15 selected companies will present their products, systems and solutions. In a personal atmosphere, participants will have the opportunity to exchange ideas directly with providers, learn about specific application examples and explore technological approaches in greater depth in the context of the presentations and discussions.

«The aim of the Perimeter Protection Congress is to translate existing know-how into concrete solutions and to take the next steps in practice together,» says Benedikt Weyerer, Executive Director of Perimeter Protection. «The digital twin shows very clearly how modern perimeter protection can be implemented today - integrated into existing systems, resilient in operation and future-proof in its further development.»

Embedded in the Connected Events of Perimeter Protection

The congress is part of Perimeter Protection's Connected Events. These combine selected, closely interlinked event formats to create a year-round platform for exchange, knowledge transfer and networking on all aspects of perimeter protection, fence construction and access control.

The series of events kicked off in February with Perimeter Protection's participation in the international security trade fair Enforce Tac. The Connected Events will be supplemented in the summer by the Fencing Championships in Winsen/Luhe, which will focus on the industry's craftsmanship.
