At this year's label award ceremony of Friendly Work Space in Bern, Health Promotion Switzerland presented awards to nine new companies. Among them are renowned companies such as Credit Suisse, Bell Switzerland and Philips. Five other companies successfully completed the demanding reassessment. As a result, 220,000 employees in Switzerland benefit from systematic workplace health promotion measures and correspondingly optimized working conditions.

Corporate culture is an interplay of behaviors, habits and values that a company develops over the course of its history. This also includes the way health is dealt with. To a greater extent, well-being and health are now perceived as important elements of corporate culture. Systematic health management helps to integrate values into the processes and structures of an organization. With the Friendly Work Space quality label, Health Promotion Switzerland recognizes employers for their exemplary commitment to workplace health promotion.

At today's award ceremony at the Eventforum Bern, Health Promotion Switzerland presented nine companies of different sizes and from different sectors with the Friendly Work Space quality label for the first time. Five other companies successfully completed the demanding reassessment, one of them for the second time.

From meat processors to financial service providers

Credit Suisse was one of the first companies to receive the award. With 19,876 employees, this well-known financial services company makes a significant contribution to the fact that 220,000 employees in Switzerland currently benefit from systematic occupational health management. With the meat products manufacturer Bell, another production company received an award for its systematic occupational health management. Other newly awarded companies include Six Group, Philips, Philips Lighting Switzerland, the Paul Scherrer Institute, the care centers of the city of Zurich, the IV office in Bern and Migros Neuchâtel-Fribourg. The companies have demonstrated in a multi-stage process that they are sustainably and systematically committed to health-promoting working conditions in accordance with the requirements of Friendly Work Space.

Success with Friendly Work Space

Employees of a company awarded the Friendly Work Space label benefit in several ways: They not only work in a motivating, respectful environment in which they are challenged and encouraged, but also experience professional and personal appreciation. "Those who promote the health of their employees sustainably strengthen their competitiveness and increase their economic success. Healthier employees are also more innovative, deal more creatively with challenging issues and make more appropriate decisions," says Prof. Dr. Thomas Mattig, Director of Health Promotion Switzerland.
