Data protection certification updated
The federal government has updated the ordinance on data protection certifications. The corresponding amendment will be put into force on November 1, 2016.

The regulation on data protection certifications (VDSZ) provides that procedures and products for the processing of personal data can be certified and thus data protection and data security can be improved. In order to define the requirements for certification and for the qualification of the responsible personnel, the ordinance refers to the authoritative ISO standards in the version of a particular year. Since these standards are now outdated, the VDSZ must be revised. It now no longer refers to a specific edition of the regularly changing ISO standards, but rather generally to the internationally authoritative requirements applicable to Switzerland. In this way, the ordinance will always remain up to date.
