Edoeb recommends the deletion of data from meineimpfungen.ch

Since the deficiencies in the data integrity of the meineimpfungen.ch platform have not been remedied to date, Edoeb, together with data protection officials from the canton of Bern, has now instructed the Bern-Mittelland bankruptcy office to have the data deleted.

On November 15, 2021, an expert opinion issued by the Federal Data Protection Commissioner (Edoeb) in the fact-finding process for the Platform meineimpfungen.ch confirmed serious deficiencies in the data integrity of the platform. This included incorrect vaccination records for tetanus and Covid-19 and the scope with contact data, according to a statement from the federal government.

In a Opinion states that any further data processing could result in personality violations. Bankruptcy proceedings have since been opened on November 17, 2021. In the bankruptcy proceedings, the responsible bankruptcy office Bern-Mittelland planned to sell the personal data to a private company. Now, on Friday, May 20, 2022, the Edoeb, in consultation with the data protection commissioner of the Canton of Bern, instructed the Bern-Mittelland bankruptcy office to refrain from the planned freehand sale. It was also recommended that all data be deleted. The Bern-Mittelland Bankruptcy Office has accepted Edoeb's recommendations.
