Machine safety
Machine or plant must meet today's applicable safety and health requirements. Otherwise it can become expensive for the manufacturers.
On November 26, the SSI Machine Safety Seminar will be held in Zurich: Manufacturers or distributors of machinery are required by law to comply with the essential health and safety requirements of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC must be fulfilled. The EC declaration of conformity confirms that the machine or system is designed and built according to the state of the art and that the corresponding directive is fulfilled. As an operator of machinery, the legal obligations must also be fulfilled.
At the seminar, participants learn about the legal basis and obligations as manufacturers and/or distributors of machinery and partly completed machinery. They will also learn which documents they have to prepare in the conformity assessment procedure in accordance with the requirements of Directive 2006/42/EC in order to place machinery or partly completed machinery on the market in compliance with the law. Furthermore, some harmonized standards are presented.
In addition to the EC declaration of conformity, the customer must also be supplied with operating instructions for the machine. The seminar participants will learn which legal minimum requirements apply to the preparation of operating instructions and which recommended standards can be consulted. It will be shown how the results and findings from the risk assessment can be systematically incorporated into the operating instructions and how the safety or warning instructions can be used to the correct extent.
