Dorma has a successful business year behind it

The Dorma Group was able to improve sales and earnings in the 2014/2015 financial year (30.6.), the company writes.

At Dorma, Group sales increased by almost 10%.

 

The Group sales of Dorma increased by 9.8% to € 1,109.2 million (previous year: € 1,010.3 million) according to preliminary, unaudited IFRS figures. Organic growth at the premium provider of access solutions and services amounted to 4.2%, with a further 0.9 percentage points of the revenue increase resulting from acquisitions and 4.7 percentage points attributable to currency changes. With EBITDA of €125.6 million (previous year €120.2 million) and EBIT of €97.7 million (previous year €89.3 million), the company once again exceeded the results of the previous fiscal year by 4.4% and 9.5% respectively. According to the company, acquisitions contributed €1.0 million to the increase in EBITDA, as did currency changes of €8.0 million. At €78.7 million, consolidated net income is €9.9% higher than the previous year's figure of €71.6 million. A dividend of €55 million is proposed for the 2014/15 financial year.

"Dorma performed very well in the 2014/15 financial year, especially in the growth markets. We grew strongly under our own steam and further improved our profitability," said Thomas P. Wagner, CEO of the Dorma Group. "With this result, we are well prepared for the upcoming merger with Kaba. I am convinced that the two companies will tap into further attractive growth potential under a common roof."

Dorma's investments in property, plant and equipment and intangible assets amounted to € 46.8 million (previous year: € 19.2 million). This included the purchase of a property for the European logistics center in Wuppertal. Net cash flow from operating activities increased to € 79.1 million (previous year: € 67.8 million). As at the reporting date of June 30, 2015, Dorma was once again free of financial debt on balance and had net cash and cash equivalents totaling € 112.0 million (previous year: € 135.9 million). As of the same date, pension provisions amounted to € 198.2 million, of which a partial amount of € 16.6 million is congruently reinsured.

The number of employees in the Group, including apprentices, increased from 7,191 to 7,410 during the 2014/15 financial year.

Numerous product innovations 

Dorma once again demonstrated its innovative strength in the past financial year. According to the company, the Group launched more product innovations than ever before. Six new products were presented at the international BAU trade fair in January 2015. In addition, there were numerous local innovations, such as the ITS 900 or ITS 915 door closers for the entry-level segment in Asia. Dorma has received twelve design awards for these new products since the beginning of the year. As a company, Dorma was named one of Germany's most innovative medium-sized companies in June 2015.

According to the information provided, the publication of the audited IFRS consolidated financial statements is scheduled for the beginning of October 2015.
