LOVE LIFE turns condoms into winning tickets
"Join in and win" is the motto of the new campaign against HIV and other sexually transmitted infections by the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH), Aids-Hilfe Schweiz (AHS) and Sexual Health Switzerland (SGCH). The campaign shows: Whoever protects themselves during sex with a condom wins. For a certain period of time, the condom packaging also contains a prize code, offering the chance to win one of over 3,500 attractive prizes.
By this fall, around 400,000 condoms will be distributed as part of the new LOVE LIFE campaign "Join in and win". The packaging of each condom is a ticket with a prize code. The idea behind it is: if you protect yourself during sex, you have definitely won. And anyone who enters the code on the lovelife.ch website can also win one of over 3,500 prizes. At the same time, participants are asked to complete the safer sex check. This online tool generates customized safer sex recommendations based on personal details. The Prevention campaign is aimed at the sexually active population. Anyone aged 16 and over living in Switzerland can take part in the competition.
Sampling teams distribute condoms
Various online ads and posters will draw attention to the campaign for two weeks. There are numerous ways to obtain the winning condom tickets shown there: During the summer months, the condoms are distributed by promoters at high-traffic locations such as clubs, bars, swimming pools and music festivals. The AHS and SGCH advice centers also hand out condoms. The profits were donated to the BAG free of charge from various companies operating in Switzerland. The range of prizes includes televisions, stereo systems, cameras and a bicycle.
Costs of the campaign
The FOPH invests around two million Swiss francs a year in the LOVE LIFE campaign.
