"Fabric of the future" for workwear & PPE

With "Accelerate", Mascot is launching for the first time PPE products made of stretch fabric that can withstand industrial washing and drying processes. A unique stretch fabric allows the garment to withstand repetitive industrial washing and drying processes while maintaining its stretch properties and offering complete freedom of movement. The editorial team interviewed Sven Keller, Country Manager of Mascot Switzerland, at A+A in Düsseldorf.

Mr. Keller, what trends in occupational safety clothing are you presenting at A+A?

Sven Keller: We are presenting two new products here. On the one hand, in the PPE warning protection area, this is the "Safe Accelerate" collection. Here we offer stretch applications, full stretch, four-way stretch with numerous new features and color combinations. It is industrial washable and of course certified according to the new ISO 20471.

On the other hand, we are presenting a completely new extensive collection for the food sector with also a lot of stretch in different qualities for men and women. The whole thing is available in white, but of course also in other colors for the various food processors. Furthermore we complete with a Organic cotton Shirt collection the existing range of tops

What innovations do you have in occupational safety footwear?

For the food industry, for example, we offer appropriate shoes that are washable at 40 degrees and can be fitted with an RF chip. We present here extremely lightweight shoes with or without safety caps and safe penetration protection.

What about the issue of sustainability?

Sustainability is also a big issue at Mascot. It starts with the packaging, which is recyclable for us. But we also make sure that our goods are produced and traded fairly. That is also the special thing about our products, that we take the entire life cycle management seriously.

Mascot is working on all 17 global goals at different levels. We will continue to expand and intensify our commitment in these areas beyond 2030. As a producer of workwear, we also want to do our part to fight poverty and hunger, ensure health and education for all, and offer fair jobs.

You offer new, more flexible fabrics in the PPE sector, what are they?

Yes, this is a fabric that the market has not seen before. It is a special stretch material that allows great freedom of movement and does not restrict anywhere. We offer this fabric for both men and women. Stretch is of course the fabric of the future, because among other things it also flatters the body.
