European Immunization Week with tenth edition
European Immunization Week, April 20-25, aims to increase vaccination coverage across Europe.
The 10th European Immunization Week under the motto Prevent. Protect. Vaccinate is scheduled for April 20-25, 2015.
The initiative, led by the World Health Organization (WHO) Europe, aims to rid the European Region of vaccine-preventable diseases by raising public awareness about the benefits of immunization and promoting national immunization systems.
Measures do seem necessary: in 2013, for example, the WHO recorded 31,685 cases of measles in Europe - that's 348% more than in 2007. To prevent such outbreaks, 95% of the population would need to be vaccinated, according to the WHO.
Companies and doctors' practices can order posters and flyers for Immunization Week from the BAG. order.
