Investor AM-Tec acquires stake in Morphean
Morphean, which specializes in video hosting and video security-as-a-service, has a new investor on board in the form of AM-Tec.
Morphean provides a service platform for the analysis of video, audio and third-party metadata. Due to its strong growth, AM-Tec is investing with Morphean to support the vendor in existing, as well as new markets, according to Morphean. The partnership is now expected to pave the way for the Swiss company to further expand in Europe and vertical markets. With the support of AM-Tec and the election of Peter Balsiger to the Morphean board, the company has both the resources and the expertise needed to ensure future growth in these markets, it said.
"We are impressed by the technology Morphean has developed, by their business model - and by the key people behind it. The added value of the platform as well as its growth potential has convinced us all around," says Balsiger, Partner at Aventic Partners AG and investor for high-tech companies at AM-Tec Kredit AG. "That's why we're participating in Morphean not only with capital, but also with the experience that my team and I can bring to the table."
Rodrigue Zbinden, CEO and co-founder at Morphean SA, added: "We welcome the new partnership and look forward to further developing Morphean together with AM-Tec and becoming a dominant player in this global market."
Morphean currently operates in nine European countries and has won global retail chains as key customers. The company offers its hosting platform to a wide range of partners, including emergency call centers, security companies, telecommunications providers and service companies. The products are hosted in proprietary clouds in various European countries, the company writes.
