Great interest in safety topics and solutions
SICHERHEIT 2015, held from November 10 to 13, once again underscored the unbroken high demand for security solutions. This was also evident at the trade show's accompanying congress and special show on the topic of "Risk Management of Natural Hazards".
"During its 20th edition, Security 2015 once again became the most important meeting place for the Swiss security market and provided the comprehensive overview of the industry," says a pleased Heinz Salzgeber, Exhibition Director, looking back. Despite the tense economic situation, 194 (2013: 224) exhibitors, associations and publishers from a total of eight nations presented themselves on around 7,000 (7,400) net square meters of space. According to information, 9,619 visitors (10,152) were counted. Around 90 percent were trade visitors with high decision-making authority, such as Exhibit & More AG writes further. This proves the still unbroken interest in security topics and solutions. "Actually, we didn't want to exhibit this year," said Marek Bolardt, Head of Marketing at the Assa Abloy (Switzerland) AG. "After the acquisition of the MSL Lock and Fittings Factory AG spring 2015 we decided to do so after all. Now the stand was always well attended and at peak times completely crowded. The customers are enthusiastic and among them are very exciting contacts. We need more space next time!"
360° perspective at the trade congress
The trade congress held in parallel to the trade show also attracted around 1,000 participants, who were able to gain a 360° perspective on people, technology, organization and processes in 19 different half-day modules. Organizer Markus Good of the Save Inc. - a company of the galledia group - drew a positive conclusion: "The large number of participants underlines the great need for information in this increasingly dynamic environment with complex challenges and changing framework conditions. High-quality continuing education, an intensive exchange of experience and networking are very important in this context."
Well attended special show
For the second time, the special show "Risk management of natural hazards" took place in Hall 6, again organized by the Egli Engineering AG planned and implemented. In particular, security officers of companies found here an ideal entry point to discuss both for the site check and around possible measures to limit the risks. The numerous participants were interested in the various presentations at the open forum and the adjacent exhibition areas completed the offer with suitable solutions to the topics discussed.
"It needs this fair"
The trade event was able to meet or even exceed the expectations of most exhibitors, and their feedback clearly shows that this trade show is needed. "We cultivate many contacts here that we would otherwise only be able to handle with a great deal of effort," said Marco Wunderle, Managing Director of the CSF Wunderle GmbH and President of the VBSF (Swiss Association of Fire Protection and Safety Professionals). In the context of safety, the VBSF also awarded its Safety Award.
However, the continuous change of the market, the complexity of the various topics and the high dynamics in the industry also call for new ways and the development of further areas: "For example, we would like to have more architects among our contacts," said Marek Bolardt. Marco Wunderle added: "In most cases, our contacts are responsible for classical safety and fire protection as well as occupational safety. It would be nice if we could bring everything back under this one roof." And Stefan Schröder, CEO of Eotec AG, wished : "In order to keep the trade event fit for the future, innovations are needed. For example, there should be a little more show, in addition, other subject areas could be opened up that offer visitors added value."
Proven and innovative
The 21. SECURITY will be held in Zurich from November 14 to 17, 2017. It will be inspired by such suggestions and will include new and innovative elements in the program in addition to the tried and tested elements, emphasize the trade fair organizers.
Even earlier, however, the fair is moving back to western Switzerland: the 4. SECURITE LAUSANNE will take place from November 2 to 4, 2016 at Expo Beaulieu.
