Fedpol under the sign of cooperation

Crime is becoming increasingly global and digital: ATM burglars, cyber criminals, drug, human and weapons traffickers know no cantonal or national borders. That is why the exchange of information and cooperation with national and international police authorities are indispensable in the fight against crime and for greater security. To make cooperation more efficient, Fedpol is bringing police authorities together to mark Interpol's 100th anniversary.

As a prosperous country, Switzerland's small size and location in the heart of Europe make it a particularly rewarding target for criminals of all kinds. Money launderers, ATM burglars, cyber criminals, drug traffickers, human traffickers and arms dealers use Switzerland for their activities. The criminals are usually active in several cantons - and not only that: the majority of cases in which Fedpol investigates have a foreign connection, including non-European, as the Federal Police writes. Only through intensive exchange of information and close cooperation with national and international police authorities can Switzerland effectively fight crime.

In order to strengthen international police cooperation, Fedpol is bringing the 100th anniversary of Interpol the Secretary General of Interpol, Jürgen Stock, the cantonal police forces, the Italian Carabinieri and the Federal Criminal Police Office of Germany, together with other experts.

Fighting crime yesterday, today and tomorrow

During the meeting, the current crime situation, the latest developments and the possibilities of cooperation in the fight against organized crime will be discussed, writes the Fedpol. For the fight against organized and international crime, all police authorities must pull together.
