Millions robbed in jewelry store

A few days ago, unknown persons robbed a jewelry store on Rämistrasse in Zurich and fled with loot worth well over 1 million Swiss francs. Thanks to video surveillance, images of two perpetrators exist.

On Saturday, February 20, at around 12:20 a.m., three men entered the jewelry store "Harry Hofmann" at Rämistrassse 33 in Zurich. According to the police, the unknown men suddenly pulled out a handgun, threatened the sales staff and stole numerous pieces of jewelry, precious stones and cash. Shortly afterwards, the perpetrators fled on foot in the direction of Heimplatz with loot worth well over 1 million Swiss francs. The alarmed Zurich City Police immediately went out and initiated a manhunt for the fugitive perpetrators. Fortunately, the sales staff present, a man and a woman, were unharmed.

Perpetrator descriptions

One of the perpetrators is described as slim and very tall, about 195 cm. He has reddish hair, wore glasses and a small beard, as well as a conspicuous suit made of blue fabric with studs (see suspected perpetrator 1). He generally made a well-groomed appearance and spoke broken German. A second perpetrator is also described as tall, about 190 cm, but with a somewhat firmer build (see suspected perpetrator 2). He had dark hair and also spoke broken German. The third perpetrator can not be described in more detail.

Witness appeal

The police are looking for anyone who noticed anything suspicious in the vicinity of Rämistrasse 33 around the time of the crime or who can provide information about the perpetrators pictured. Information is requested to the Zurich City Police, telephone number 0 444 117 117.
