Siemens appoints Susanne Seitz as CEO of the Buildings Division
The Swiss national heads the newly founded Buildings Division, which, as part of Smart Infrastructure, bundles all building-related areas of Siemens in one unit.
"It has never been more important to make existing and new buildings more sustainable. Buildings cause more than 40 percent of annual global CO2 emissions worldwide and we have a responsibility to drive their decarbonization," says Matthias Rebellius, Member of the Board and CEO of Smart Infrastructure. "Smarter buildings create added value for owners, users, operators and the environment as a whole. I have full confidence in the new management team. Together with the combined expertise of almost 30,000 employees worldwide, we can further expand our leading position in the building market and pave the way for the smart buildings of the future."
The Buildings division works with customers and a growing ecosystem of partners from over 60 countries across a range of industries. Industries include healthcare, data centers, higher education, commercial real estate, pharma and life sciences, and food and beverage. The division's portfolio includes products for building control, fire protection and security, automation and operations, data-based services, decarbonization programs and software - including Building X, Siemens' scalable digital building platform for digitizing, managing and optimizing operations.
"I am excited about the opportunity to further expand this dynamic business. With innovative technology, we can accelerate the transformation towards smarter, more autonomous and self-sufficient buildings by taking advantage of artificial intelligence, IT/OT convergence and digital services. This helps our customers to reduce emissions and costs while improving the user experience in buildings," says Seitz.
Susanne Seitz, who is based in Zug, Switzerland, was previously Head of Sales and Marketing at Siemens Smart Infrastructure, where she led the digital transformation of global sales and marketing on a global level.
