ATLAS new DHB main partner
Dortmund-based manufacturer of safety shoes becomes visible on the jerseys of the national teams

The German Handball Federation is moving safely and steadfastly into the future. The new main partnership with ATLAS begins on January 1, 2025. The DHB, which is based in Dortmund, and the family-owned company, which is also based in the Westphalian metropolis, have agreed to cooperate for the next three years. As an international company, ATLAS is a leading manufacturer of innovative safety footwear. Its customers include top European industrial companies and high-performance specialist retailers. The ATLAS commitment was brokered by SPORTFIVE, the agency of the German Handball Federation responsible for marketing and media rights.
Hendrik Schabsky, CEO of ATLAS, and DHB CEO Mark Schober recently signed the partnership agreement at the Dortmund shoe factory. "We share a common path," says Hendrik Schabsky. "The DHB has made impressive progress in recent years - with over 760,000 members and a steadily increasing relevance of handball, not least due to the Women's and Men's World Championships. This development fits in perfectly with our own values: continuous commitment and consistency. Especially in the coming year, when we celebrate our 115th anniversary, we see our partnership with the DHB as a strong sign of shared visions and success."
Since 1910, the company has been producing safety shoes of the highest quality, which are now sold throughout the European market. Over 2.7 million pairs of safety shoes are manufactured annually at the modern production site in Dortmund.
"We share a passion for handball and ATLAS is a partner that not only lives our values, but also embodies a combination of tradition and progress. I am convinced that we will grow together in the coming years and put the sport of handball on an even more stable footing - whether on the pitch or beyond. With such a strong partnership, we have the best prerequisites for moving safely and steadily into the future," says Mark Schober.
Hendrik Schiphorst, Managing Director of SPORTFIVE Germany, added: "The cooperation between the DHB and ATLAS is a perfect match - both partners come from Dortmund and both stand for shared values such as a down-to-earth attitude and innovative strength. We are delighted to support and activate this perfect partnership in the coming exciting years of handball."
From the new year, ATLAS will primarily be seen on the men's and women's national jerseys. In addition, ATLAS will use the digital and physical presences around home international matches and activate the partnership via social media communication. This touches on aspects such as internationality, digitalization and sustainability. But for now, the focus is entirely on the start of the year and the 2025 highlights. ATLAS CEO Schabsky is full of anticipation: "We're looking forward to the first international matches in Flensburg and Hamburg and the men's World Cup immediately afterwards. And further highlights will be the main round and quarter-finals of the Women's World Cup in December 2025 in Dortmund's Westfalenhalle."
