Challenges smoke extraction

Sticking points between planning and operation: The challenges in the field of smoke extraction are great, but they can still be solved almost smoothly. This will be demonstrated at the specialist forum "Challenges in smoke extraction" using the example of the "New Messe Basel" building, writes the organizer Save AG.

The example of the "New Basel Exhibition Center" serves as an illustration.

At the Afternoon event under the title "Challenge Smoke Extraction 2016" will focus in particular on the planning, implementation and operation of the smoke extraction system and the associated fire protection components.

Innovative fire protection concept

In addition to good management and consistent project coordination, the basis for proper project execution and solving the various challenges is sound overall planning with the right specialists on board. After all, a good operating phase already begins in the planning stage. A high degree of understanding, cooperation and consensus is required from everyone involved. Sophisticated structures such as the new building at the Basel exhibition center require an innovative fire protection concept, which in turn can be based on innovative technical solutions. This is precisely where the speakers at the event come in, presenting current, selected challenges, problems and corresponding solutions in the context of smoke extraction. The speakers will discuss the challenges that have arisen directly at the Basel Exhibition Center as well as potential challenges and possible solutions.

The expert forum will be held on two half-days:

  • on April 5, 2016 at the Alte Kaserne in Winterthur
  • and on April 6, 2016 at the Capitol cinema in Olten.
