Complex door management
Access authorizations, complex functions, resistance to fire and burglary, together with the security concept and threat image, form the basis for door engineering. This sounds simple, but the complexity of door management is often underestimated, write organizers of this SSI symposium.
High demands are placed on door elements; for example, how door closures are used is by no means irrelevant - quite apart from operational, design and aesthetic concerns. Some forms of use are difficult to implement, for example an escape route to a higher security zone; other possibilities are operationally sensitive, such as a swing door with access control and motor drive for large use, combined with fire protection.
The whole door issue is overlaid by standards and directives, the evidence of which significantly limits the market and escalates the designs and prices compared to a smart solution.
Experts show at the SSI-The conference on March 22, 2017 in Zurich will address the challenges of door management and provide useful tips and concrete solutions.
