New Head for Suva's Health Protection Department
At its last meeting, the Suva Council Committee elected Edith Müller Loretz as the new Head of the Health Protection Department and as a member of Suva's Executive Board. Furthermore, Kilian Ritler was appointed Head of the Legal Services Department and Christoph Bianchet Head of the Finance Department.
Edith Müller Loretz will take over as head of the Health Protection Department in April 2019. In this role, she will be responsible for the Occupational Medicine, Occupational Safety Lucerne and Lausanne, Prevention Services and Occupational Health departments, as well as managing the six Suva-She took over the management of the agencies in Bellinzona, La Chaux-de-Fonds and Delémont, Fribourg, Genéve, Lausanne and Sion. She joined Suva in 1998 as Campaign Manager Snow Sports. After holding positions as Head of Campaigns and of the Leisure Safety Division, she was responsible for the Prevention Services Department from 2014. She studied business administration at the Universities of Lucerne and Chur and continued her education in corporate communications and work and organizational psychology. Edith Müller Loretz is married and the mother of two children.
The 51-year-old takes over responsibility of the department from André Meier, who held its leadership on an interim basis after predecessor Edouard Currat took early retirement for health reasons in October 2018. André Meier continues to head the Lucerne Occupational Safety Department.
