Public warning: Listeria in soft cheese Brillat-Savarin sold at Manor and Luisier.

Listeria was detected in cheese from the French manufacturer Société Fromagère de la Brie. The soft cheese Brillat-Savarin of this producer was imported by Claude Luisier Affinage and sold at Manor AG and Luisier. A health hazard cannot be ruled out. The Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office FSVO recommends not to consume this product. Manor AG has immediately arranged for the withdrawal of the affected products from the sales shelves and has issued a recall.

The Federal Office for Food Safety and Veterinary Office FSVO was informed via the European rapid alert system RASFF as well as by Manor AG, Claude Luisier Affinage and the responsible cantonal food enforcement agencies that in cheese of the French producer Société Fromagère de la Brie Listeria were detected. The French producer's Brillat-Savarin cheese was imported into Switzerland by Claude Luisier Affinage and sold at Manor AG and Luisier's own store.

The FSVO recommends consumers not to consume the affected soft cheese.

In persons with an intact immune system, infection with Listeria is usually mild or even asymptomatic. In immunocompromised individuals, a range of severe symptoms may develop, some of which may be fatal. During pregnancy, a ListeriaInfection lead to miscarriage or the child may be born with blood poisoning or meningitis.
