More and more women are losing their lives in accidents.

The number of fatal accidents among men has stagnated since 1995, while the number of fatal accidents among women has increased by 51% in the same period. This is shown by the Statistics on causes of death of the Federal Statistical Office for 2013, which has just been published.

However, men still generally suffer more accidents and die more often as a result than women. But the figures are becoming more and more similar: While 1299 men and 851 women died in accidents in 1995, by 2013 the figures were 1285 women and 1312 men.
