ISO 45001 wins vote of confidence
The planned new international occupational health and safety guideline ISO 45001 has cleared an important hurdle.
The new ISO standard ISO 45001, Occupational Health and Safety, aims to contribute to safer and healthier working conditions worldwide in the future. After an initial draft was presented in 2014, it is currently being worked out in detail - with input from experts from over 70 countries.
This week, the draft cleared a positive hurdle, ISO reports: More than 75% of the members involved in its drafting expressed agreement with its contents in a vote.
The next step is to review the comments and incorporate them as necessary. Then the draft will be prepared for a public vote, which should take place later this year.
