Mourning for Ewald Haimerl
Ewald Haimerl, Managing Director and owner of the shoe and clothing manufacturer Haix, passed away unexpectedly on July 13. Ewald Haimerl was a formative figure in the German footwear industry.

When the trained master shoemaker and deputy commander of the Mainburg fire department When he took over his father's company in 1992, he had a vision: to move away from rubber firefighting boots and towards a high-quality leather product. This idea was Ewald Haimerl's breakthrough. He quickly developed further models for the Policethe Rescue service and the Military. With his entrepreneurial vision, Ewald Haimerl led his company from a regional craft business to a global player in the years that followed.
Following his unexpected death, the company will continue to be run by family members and other members of the management team. "No one can replace Ewald Haimerl. But we will honor his memory and continue to run Haix in his spirit," says the management.
