Wisekey: Acquisition completed
Wisekey International recently announced that the previously announced acquisition of cyber security group QuoVadis is now complete. All of the company's existing operating units in Switzerland, Germany, Holland, etc. will be integrated into the holding company, according to the announcement.
The acquisition allows Wisekey to expand its PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) offering for the Internet of Things (IoT). IoT PKI is defined as providing complete X.509 digital certificates and cryptographic keys and managing the entire lifecycle. Digital certificates can either be securely installed on IoT devices during the manufacturing process and then activated by PKI solutions, or they can be loaded after manufacturing.
The acquisition would allow the use of major synergies thanks to the broad, long-standing customer base of QuoVadis in the area of managed PKI solutions (Trust/Link) and the sealsign signature platform. In addition, the company brings extensive technical expertise in the operation of secure and highly available environments under the strictest accreditations and strengthens the sales and support teams in key markets such as Switzerland, Holland and Germany.
Carlos Moreira, Chairman and CEO of Wisekey, states, "We are very pleased that this strategic acquisition has now been completed. This transaction provides direct contact with QuoVadis' large customer base and strengthens its geographic presence in Europe."
Roman Brunner, CEO of QuoVadis, said, "The acquisition by Wisekey enables QuoVadis to grow stronger to serve multinational markets and meet the rapidly growing demand for cross-border eIDAS-IoT security services to cover."
