Dobler to become new ICTswitzerland president
The board of ICTswitzerland is proposing National Councillor Marcel Dobler as its new president. National Councillor Franz Grütter could be won as vice president, as the ICT umbrella organization writes.
The Board of ICTswitzerland unanimously supported the proposal of its search committee at its meeting on December 2, 2016: It will propose to the delegates' meeting on March 16, 2017, that Marcel Dobler, an entrepreneur and FDP National Councillor, be elected as president of ICTswitzerland, the ICT umbrella organization writes. Dobler is to succeed Council of States member Ruedi Noser, who has presided over the association since 2009.
Marcel Dobler (born 1980) is a founding member of the ICT company Digitec and was its CEO for 13 years. In the fall of 2015, he was elected to the National Council for the FDP.
The vice presidency will be taken over by current board member Franz Grüter, the association writes. As an ICT entrepreneur, Grüter, a member of the SVP National Council, has close political and business ties with the ICT sector.
