Machine safety - what needs to be considered?
Even those who manufacture machines in Switzerland are legally obligated to comply with the basic health and safety requirements of the European Machinery Directive. This also applies to machine operators. A practical seminar provides clarity.
On October 25, 2017, the Swiss Association of Independent Safety Engineers and Consultants (SSI) in Olten, in cooperation with Save AG, will once again be holding a Practical seminar on the subject of machine safety. The legal principles and obligations as manufacturers and/or distributors of machines and partly completed machines are conveyed. Finally, the EC declaration of conformity confirms that the machine or system has been designed and built in accordance with the "state of the art" and that the fundamental health and safety requirements of the Machinery Directive have also been complied with accordingly. This is also a core topic at the seminar.
And what about harmonized standards?
The standards define the current state of safety technology in a specific area. EN ISO 12100:2010, for example, comprehensively describes the risk assessment procedure for designing safe machinery.

Answers to these and other questions are provided at the seminar. In the concluding guest presentation by a company, participants will also gain insight into the implementation of legal obligations from the perspective of a manufacturer.
