Ram burglary - witnesses wanted
Unknown persons drove a van backwards into a shop window in Kreis 1 in Zurich today and then fled with valuable watches. The police are looking for witnesses.
Early Monday morning, shortly before 3:45 a.m., residents reported to the operations center of the Zurich City Police (Stapo) that a delivery truck had just driven into the shop window of a watch store in Augustinergasse. Initial investigations by the police revealed that the unknown persons drove with an orange-colored van intentionally, backwards into a shop window, according to the report. Two dark-clad and masked men then entered the store, it said. According to information, they smashed several display cases and then fled with a currently unknown number of valuable watches. A dark vehicle with a cab beacon on the roof was used as the getaway car. Presumably, St. Gallen license plates were attached to the vehicle, as the Stapo writes.
Persons who can provide information on the aforementioned case on Augustinergasse, in the area of Bahnhofstrasse/Pelikanstrasse (Max Bill Pavilion sculpture), are asked to contact the Zurich City Police, 044 411 71 17. In particular, people are being sought who can provide information about the orange van left behind or the getaway vehicle.
