SSI launches new professional group
The SSI members unanimously decided in May to found and establish an "Affiliate Chapter" of the "Society of Fire Protection Engineers" (SFPE Switzerland) under their umbrella.
In recent years, regulation-based fire protection in Switzerland has been driven primarily by the Association of Cantonal Fire Insurers (VKF), as the Swiss Association of Independent Safety Engineers and Consultants (SSI) emphasizes. Where standard solutions are unsuitable, innovation, creativity or engineering competence is required. In order to better promote this performance-based fire protection in Switzerland, the VKF had already suggested to the SSI some time ago that a SFPE-Chapter.
SFPE Switzerland as a professional group of the association
SFPE Switzerland will be represented as a professional group within the SSI founded and built. While the engineers' association has corporate members, the Society of Fire Protection Engineers is a personal organization. As soon as SFPE Switzerland has enough members, it will break away from the engineers' association, the latter writes.
The official founding event of SFPE Switzerland is to take place next fall. Then it is a matter of gaining members and establishing this profession.
