Sécurité Lausanne: Another success in 2018

Training and exhibition under one roof: visitors and audience benefited from this at the three-day Sécurité Lausanne and the accompanying congress forum. Participants gave the fair positive and constructive feedback.

Also this year confirmed the Sécurité Lausanne its role as a valued knowledge platform. Around 70 exhibitors, associations and publishers presented their products and services at Expo Beaulieu in Lausanne from November 14 to 16, 2018. With 2125 trade visitors, this year's event was almost as well attended as the last edition in the record year of 2016, according to organizer Exhibit & More AG.

Satisfied exhibitors

The exhibitors were satisfied with the three days of the fair. For example, Jean-Gabriel Perreten, Senior Business Manager at Gunnebo Suisse SA, who said with a smile, "We are very satisfied. We will be back."

Philippe Gaillard, Directeur Suisse romande at Dormakaba Suisse SA, found similar words: "This is a very important trade fair for us. We are here above all to make our brand even better known. From this point of view, the trade event was a success and we will be happy to come again."

The importance of the image transfer was also underlined by Jean-Yves Petit, Key Account Manager at Stanley Security Switzerland Sàrl. "It was important for us to show ourselves as a company and to be present here. We made good contacts, also with institutional customers. However, I would have liked to see more activities at the fair - things to see and experience, for example drones," Petit said.

Of course, the quality of the contacts can only be properly assessed in retrospect, said Vincent Nicod, Directeur Associé of Perfolux SA. "But we were able to make good contacts and also meet with our existing customers at a central location. For the future, I would like to see the show merge with Ineltec, as it did in German-speaking Switzerland. For us, that would create many useful synergies."

Forum Sécurité: High-quality presentations

The Forum Sécurité made an important contribution to the high quality of the visitors. The series of lectures were free of charge, neutrally prepared and of high quality. They offered a great deal of useful know-how for the daily work of security professionals and were again supported by a wide range of industry associations and recognized as continuing education. The Forum Sécurité attracted an audience of around 800. The exhibitors also benefited from this. Since the lectures took place in the exhibition hall and were divided into half-day modules, participants were able to visit both the forum and the exhibition on the same day. The listeners, thirsty for knowledge, were then also very interested visitors at the exhibition stands.

Conclusion and outlook

Sécurité Lausanne has once again underlined its high importance for Western Switzerland and enjoys the full recognition of the industry. "We are delighted with the many positive and constructive feedbacks from exhibitors and visitors," says Exhibition Director Heinz Salzgeber. "They show us once again: the market wants and needs this trade show. We are already looking forward to the sequel." This will take place - ten years after the premiere of Sécurité Lausanne - in late fall 2020. The exact date will be communicated as soon as possible.

The next meeting place for the Swiss security industry is in Basel: The Security 2019 will be held jointly with Ineltec from September 10 to 13, 2019.
