New management of the SVTI
The new director of the SVTI, Swiss Association for Technical Inspections, is Raffael Schubiger. The mechanical engineer succeeds Herbert Egolf, who led the SVTI for more than 25 years.
The Board of Directors of the SVTI has elected Raffael Schubiger as Director and Chairman of the Executive Board. The new head took office on January 1, 2019. He is already a familiar face in the SVTI Group; since January 2017, Raffael Schubiger, as CEO, has been in charge of the subsidiary Swiss Safety Center AG (formerly Swiss TS, Swissi AG and IWT).
The 47-year-old Schubiger graduated with a doctorate in mechanical engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich, completed additional studies in business administration and, before joining the Group, held management positions in power plant construction at Alstom Power and headed the thermal plant and renewable energy divisions at the consulting firm Pöyry.
Schubiger takes over his position as director of the SVTI from Herbert Egolf, who was responsible for the management of the company for more than 25 years. During this time, Egolf has developed the SVTI into a leading Swiss institution in the field of technical safety supervision. He will continue to be available to the company in the future in an advisory capacity on a reduced workload.
