Fire protection in logistics and warehouse applications
The fire loads in and around logistics and warehousing applications are often so high that in the event of a fire, the extent of damage and the loss of operating resources is great. It is well known that such events can have fatal consequences, even threatening the existence of the company.
Warehouses and logistics areas typically contain high quantities of valuables per square meter, densely stacked pallets with goods, easily combustible materials, various packaging materials, building surfaces that are exhausted to the last centimeter, high-tech equipment for efficient logistics, and much more. A fire can quickly develop into an inferno due to these high fire loads and the local conditions. Not only are the stored goods and operating resources destroyed, but expensive interruptions to operations and major damage to the building also often result.
Smoke - another problem
Smoke is another problem. Even small amounts of smoke lead to the need to dispose of stored goods - for example, pharmaceuticals, food, clothing, valuable art objects, documents and the like. Therefore, structural, organizational and plant fire protection and smoke extraction measures should be used, which have been individually tailored and evaluated to the individual risks.
Symposium shows solutions
However, thanks to organizational means, intelligent (building) planning and precisely fitting structural and technical fire protection, economically viable solutions can be created to prevent such events. The speakers at the Symposium from 26 November 2019organized by Save AG, will present approaches and solutions from a variety of perspectives in Zurich.
The conference organized by Save AG is recognized by the VKF, the Swiss Safety Center and the SGAS as continuing education.
