Federal asylum centers: mandates awarded for security services
The State Secretariat for Migration has awarded the mandates for security services at federal asylum centers from January 1, 2020. The awards of the public tender were made to three companies: Protectas AG, Securitas AG and Verkehrsüberwachung Schweiz AG.
For four of the six Loose in the buildings and on the premises (in-house), Securitas AG was awarded the contract, according to the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM). The other two in-house lots were awarded to Protectas AG. In the area of external patrols, in addition to Protectas (two lots) and Securitas (two lots), Verkehrsüberwachung Schweiz AG was also awarded the contract for two lots.
The subject of the mandates, according to the SEM, are the security services that will be provided at federal asylum centers from Jan. 1, 2020, to Dec. 31, 2021. These mandates can be optionally extended twice for three years, up to a maximum of Dec. 31, 2027, according to the release.
Task catalog
According to the SEM, security services include important tasks such as boxing, surveillance and guarding services. In particular, visitor reception, entrance control, alarm handling and the operation of security-relevant facilities are to be ensured. In the area of external patrols, a uniformed presence is used to prevent problems in the vicinity of the federal asylum centers.
The federal government put these mandates out to public tender in June 2019. The bidders had to prove, among other things, their economic-financial and operational-organizational performance as well as the experience relevant to the contract, professional qualifications and the appropriate, permanent training and continuing education of employees. The offers of the contract partners were convincing due to the best price-performance ratio, as the SEM emphasizes.
