Business performance: Specialist installers give top marks
The autumn economic survey conducted by the BHE Bundesverband Sicherheitstechnik (Federal Association for Security Technology) confirms the recently published, good sales forecast for 2017. German specialist installers are extremely satisfied with developments in the security market and awarded new top marks in numerous categories.
"The mood on the market is very positive overall. This is also reflected in the good rating of the current business situation with a value of 1.83 on the school grade scale. Around 30% of all respondents even described their current order situation as 'very good'," says Dr. Urban Brauer, Managing Director of the BHE.
The commercial customer group continued to grow strongly and made a significant leap to the new best mark of 1.76, as the BHE emphasizes. The positive trend also continued among public authorities. The business situation in this customer group has improved in recent years from a score of 2.9 to 2.5. Only the private sector, with a value of 2.48, is in slight decline. Nevertheless, the score achieved was among the top 5 in recent years.
Access control saw particularly strong growth
The decline in the private sector was also the reason why burglar alarm technology as a whole was rated slightly lower than in the past two years. All other sectors, however, achieved new record values. According to the BHE, access control (2.11) and smoke and heat extraction systems, which received a score below 2.0 for the first time at 1.8, made particularly strong gains.
All in all, the installers were quite positive about the future and rated the future business situation at 1.97. The survey also revealed that the companies were very optimistic about the future. 78 percent of the companies surveyed awarded the grade "good".
Based on this outlook, 63 percent of the companies would like to hire new personnel. This is the highest value since the BHE surveys began. And not a single company is planning layoffs.
