Axis Communications presents new cloud solutions for video management software

AXIS Camera Station (ACS) is a video management software (VMS) that is compatible with all Axis network solutions as well as third-party products. The two new solutions, AXIS Camera Station Edge (ACS Edge) and AXIS Camera Station Cloud Storage, are designed to enhance network video management with innovative cloud capabilities. Axis aims to provide highly scalable, secure and flexible solutions in its end-to-end offering.

AXIS Camera Station Edge: a seamless cam-to-cloud solution

ACS Edge uses an advanced method of managing video data in which image processing takes place directly on the camera. No external server is required. Decentralized image processing not only increases speed, but also reduces infrastructure requirements, resulting in lower operational costs and lower total cost of ownership for the user.

"With ACS Edge, we offer our customers a true cam-to-cloud solution, while the rest of our new ACS offering also includes on-premise, cloud and hybrid solutions," explains David Needham, EMEA Business Development Program Manager at Axis Communications.

Faster access to video data

A key advantage of ACS Edge is faster access to video data thanks to edge-based image processing directly on the camera. It reduces system complexity and eliminates the need for extensive on-site equipment. Using this video management software, Axis edge devices can be seamlessly integrated with the cloud services provided by Axis. This gives users the ability to efficiently manage large amounts of video footage through an intuitive user interface. The deployment of ACS Edge is simple. All that is required is an Axis camera with an SD memory card or an AXIS S30 Series recorder, minimizing both configuration time and ongoing maintenance.

AXIS Camera Station Cloud Storage: secure, external storage

With AXIS Camera Station Cloud Storage, Axis Communications presents a fully managed, cloud-based storage solution for its video management software, available via a subscription license. AXIS Camera Station Cloud Storage provides long-term video storage and ensures that video footage is accessible regardless of the physical location of the hardware. In this way, important video data is securely preserved even in the event of hardware failure or physical damage.

Processed video footage can be automatically transferred from the cameras to the cloud, eliminating the need for costly local storage solutions while providing flexible access to video data. Cloud storage also includes a 30-day retention period for 720p video - ideal for companies with a multi-regional presence and cross-border support.
