Barça players as safety ambassadors
Who still looks when safety instructions are offered on an airplane? Exactly. Qatar Airways is therefore breaking new ground with a funny video full of football.
This new implementation of the classic Security videos is designed to animate customers while conveying important information - a break with norms in the industry, according to the airline. The four-minute video features six of Barcelona's Primera División players - Messi, Suarez, Neymar, Pique, Rakitic and Mascherano - along with fans and Qatar Airways crew as they point out important safety information to passengers. Whether striker Suarez is an ideal ambassador, however, remains to be seen, because he is known to blow a fuse every now and then.
In the new video, the players breathe life into the safety instructions - in the special style of FC Barcelona. Suarez, for example, brings the safety vest onto the pitch, Pique causes a stir in the departure lounge as well as when demonstrating the "Braçe Position" - the body position that must be adopted in an emergency. The video was filmed mainly at the Camp Nou stadium, home of FC Barcelona. The scenes such as the pitch, the stands, the dressing room and the team bus are very familiar to the fans.
