BE SMART WORK SAFE - Video clips for more occupational safety

Around two thirds of young people in Switzerland opt for basic vocational training. Young career starters suffer considerably more accidents than experienced employees.

The EKAS-campaign "BE SMART WORK SAFE" has therefore been working for four years to raise awareness of occupational safety among young people. Recently, funny video clips and a cool campaign song with helpful tips for greater occupational safety were launched.

Whatsapp, Snapchat, Skype etc. are popular with young people. The content of the BE SMART WORK SAFE campaign is presented in these formats in a way that is suitable for young people in order to raise awareness of the topic of occupational safety among young career starters and to enter into a dialog with them. With a song and 11 other cool, funny Video clips young career starters are given tips for greater occupational safety. A video game clip, a Snapchat clip, a fail video and a WhatsApp clip were produced for this purpose. The clips speak exactly the language of young people and are distributed via the campaign website, social media, YouTube and in collaboration with youth platforms. The song "Jim Tonic" can be accessed via various Music platforms can be downloaded. All proceeds go to the Lift youth project an integration and prevention program at the interface between elementary school (Sek. I) and vocational training (Sek. II).

Those who think for themselves get more out of their free time
For four years, BE SMART WORK SAFE has been engaging in direct dialog with young people via the channels they use. Over 12,000 fans share their work experiences on Facebook and receive valuable information on correct behavior at work. As part of the big "Black Stories" competition last fall, over 1600 young people also took a closer look at the tips. With these measures, the awareness-raising campaign ensures that occupational safety becomes - and remains - a relevant topic for young career starters. The campaign shows why correct behavior at work means full enjoyment in leisure time.
