Fire hazard - product recall
In cooperation with the Heavy Current Inspectorate, Netgear is recalling the Outdoor Power Adapter "VMA4700" for certain surveillance cameras. There is a risk of fire.
Into the waterproof plug of the Netgear Arlo outdoor power supply "VMA 4700" can be penetrated by water, which can lead to short circuits, melting, overheating and a fire hazard, as the Swiss Federal Inspectorate for Heavy Current Installations (ESTI) writes.
Which products are affected?
Affected by the product recall is the power adapter accessory "Netgear Arlo Outdoor Power Adapter VMA4700" of the model series "100PES" (EU) and "100UKS" (UK) for video surveillance cameras of the brands " Netgear Arlo Pro" and "Netgear Arlo Go".
The model numbers "VMA4700-100PES" or "VMA4700-100UKS" can be found on the original packaging. The numbers "332-10988-01" (EU) and "332-10989-01" (UK) can also be found on the back of the power supply to identify the affected products.
The affected power supplies were only sold separately as accessories, between June and October 2017, according to reports.
