Fire protection: New AGV work aids
The fire protection regulations of the Association of Cantonal Fire Insurers (VKF), which are valid throughout Switzerland, provide the legal basis for the implementation of fire protection. For the concretization of the implementation practice in the canton of Aargau, the AGV publishes, if necessary, leaflets and working aids.
The Argauische Gebäudeversicherung (AGV) presents two new AGV work aids.
Work aid LRWA
Smoke and heat extraction with fire department ventilators (LRWA): The basis is the VKF fire protection guideline "Smoke and heat extraction systems". Based on this, the new AGV work aid provides an overview of the tasks and duties of the bodies involved in an LRWA concept. The concluding notes and recommendations for planning an LRWA concept are tailored to the canton of Aargau.
Special emphasis must be placed on the coordination of the fire protection planners with the responsible fire department. The use of several ventilators and large mobile ventilators (MGV) is permissible, provided that availability can be guaranteed within 15 minutes by the responsible fire departments. Furthermore, in the case of complex geometries, the fire department must be enabled to open and close the discharge openings, for example, by means of manually attached covers.
Enforcement practice fire alarm systems
Work aid for fire alarm systems - enforcement practice in the canton of Aargau: With the new work aid, the AGV clarifies the enforcement practice in dealing with fire alarm systems in the canton of Aargau.
On the one hand, the application of the SES guideline "Fire alarm systems" is specified. A distinction is made between new installations and modernizations. On the other hand, the requirements demanded by the Cantonal Fire Alarm Authority for all connected fire alarm systems are shown. The AGV leaflet "Planning and operation of technical fire protection systems" shows the planning procedure, the requirements for the operation of fire alarm systems and the distribution of roles among the agencies involved.
