Fire protection: partial revision in force as of 2017

The Intercantonal Body Technical Barriers to Trade recently approved the amendments to the partial revision of the VKF fire protection regulations. The amendments will come into force on January 1, 2017.

The fire protection regulations of the Association of Cantonal Fire Insurers (VKF), which have been in force since January 1, 2015, underwent a partial revision this year. This will facilitate the interaction between the construction products legislation and the fire protection regulations. Thus, products that have so far proven themselves in fire protection can be used again as of January 2017 with the indication of the Euroclass, as the VKF emphasizes.

New documents 

On September 22, 2016, the Intercantonal Body for Technical Barriers to Trade (IOTH) unanimously approved the proposed amendments to the partial revision of the "VKF Fire Protection Regulations". Adjustments as of January 1, 2017 in force. According to the VKF, the partial revision results in changes in 16 guidelines, 9 explanations and 3 working aids.

The modified documents are made available on and offline. They are available on the website www.praever.ch can be viewed. The new partial documents can be ordered from VKF with immediate effect (delivery in December 2016).
