The still young MAS ETH in Fire Safety Engineering continuing education program pursues the goal of providing a holistic, scientifically based understanding of the relevant fundamentals of fire safety engineering, according to ETH Zurich. This includes, in particular, the various fire hazards, human behavior in fires, and risk-based planning and design of appropriate safety measures. The participants are expected to expand their technical competencies and gain the ability to analyze fire hazards holistically, formulate object-specific protection goals and design and dimension safety solutions. The interdisciplinary exchange between the participants and the lecturers is given a lot of space in the course of studies, it is said.

According to information, the MAS consists of five modules, each lasting two to three weeks. In total, the course lasts two years (part-time, 880 contact hours).

The continuing education is supported by various professional organizations such as the Association of Cantonal Fire Insurers (VKF), the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE Switzerland), the Swiss Association of Independent Safety Engineers and Consultants (SSI) or the Swiss Society of Engineers and Architects (SIA).

The Information event for the study program (Sept. 2024 to 2026) in hybrid format will be held Aug. 29, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
