China and Switzerland launch cooperation in the field of occupational safety

Following the entry into force of the Memorandum of Understanding on Occupational Safety and Health between Switzerland and China in early April 2016, a Swiss delegation will attend the 8th International Forum on Occupational Safety in Beijing on September 27, 2016.

The head of the Labor Directorate at the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO, Boris Zürcher, will hold various bilateral talks on labor and employment issues in China from September 26 to 29, 2016, launching cooperation between Switzerland and China in the field of occupational safety and health.

Boris Zürcher is thus accepting an invitation from the Chinese State Administration of Work Safety (SAWS) to Switzerland to participate in the 8th International Forum on Work Safety. This forum is jointly organized by China and the International Labor Organization (ILO) and is primarily dedicated to the topic of prevention culture in the field of occupational safety and health. It brings together occupational safety and health professionals, business people and high-level government representatives from several European countries, the USA and Russia.

The Swiss delegation will meet with representatives of SAWS and the Chinese Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security (MoHRSS) to concretize the implementation of bilateral cooperation on labor and employment issues in the coming years.

Finally, the Swiss delegation will also visit ILO cooperation projects supported by Switzerland.
