Corona virus: police no longer tolerate ±15 people
Springlike temperatures. People meet. But only in very small groups, please. The Zurich city police impose new guidelines on citizens.
Social distancing" - please keep your distance - is a key requirement for containing the epidemic. That's why in Zurich, the city police (Stapo) no longer tolerate gatherings of groups of ±15 people, according to a statement. If a police patrol encounters a group of people standing or sitting together in public spaces, but also at food and beverage stores, they will react with a sense of proportion and ask the people to assume their social responsibility and disperse voluntarily. If the persons concerned do not comply with this order, they will have to reckon with expulsion and a reprimand, the Stapo emphasizes.
Events in private space
The ban on events also applies to parties and invitations in private spaces. Small private events such as a birthday dinner or a fondue evening with no more than eight people are not covered by this provision.
The ban on events is absolute, according to the police statement. Rallies and demonstrations would be considered events and are also prohibited. One tolerates no demonstrations and rallies due to the orders of the Federal Council. The ban also applies to vigils.
