Covid tests: miscalculate, detect abuses
The Federal Council wants to investigate suspected cases of incorrectly charged Covid 19 tests and reclaim the amounts improperly received. It took this decision on April 19.
Last December, the Finance Delegation of the Federal Councils wrote to the Federal Council asking it to step up its efforts to detect and prevent improper payments under the Covid 19 test settlement.
In its response, the Federal Council shows its determination to continue the investigation of the suspected cases. The Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) has drawn up a concept for combating abuse and, depending on the outcome of the investigations, will reclaim the amounts wrongly invoiced. In this context, the FOPH has already issued the first rulings on suspected unjustified invoices. The amounts involved are in the order of 1.8 million francs. In addition, the FOPH has initiated criminal proceedings and further steps cannot be ruled out in the future, the Federal Council said.
