Cybersecurity is the big topic in Europe in the month of October.

For four weeks, it's all about 100 events in 25 EU countries about the dangers on the Internet and how to protect yourself from them.

"Trust and security are key components of the European Digital Single Market. We cannot exploit the possibilities of digital tools and online networks if we do not trust them. Raising awareness of the risks and the threat, and the fact that network security is a shared responsibility, is essential so that when people are online, they are better informed and protect themselves against risks," said EU Vice-President Andrus Ansip, responsible for the Digital Single Market.

In Germany, among other events, the cybersecurity congress EMEA will be held in Munich. On October 20 and 21, security professionals from Europe will discuss the challenge of cyber security with colleagues from around the world. A platform of products and services related to IT security will be offered from October 6 to 8 at the IT security trade fair it-sa IT with security officers, developers and vendors in Nuremberg.

The Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) provides information about the German events on its websites. In addition, experts are available to answer questions about network security on the BSI's Facebook page.
