The first graduated door planners
The first graduates of the newly created further training "VST / VSSM Door Planner" were able to receive their certificate.
There is more to a door than meets the eye. Because a door must meet many requirements: Fire protection, escape route function, burglar resistance, sound insulation and much more. Not to forget the high demands on the aesthetics of the architectural community. It is no easy task for the door industry to reconcile all requirements, if at all possible.
The graduates 2018
To ensure that the profession has good know-how, the associations of the Door industry (VST) and the Master carpenters and furniture manufacturers (VSSM) has launched a corresponding continuing education program. It started last March. In the context of their annual VST seminar, VST President Jim Steiner was able to ceremoniously award the diploma "VST / VSSM door planner" present.

The further education to "Door planner VST / VSSM" is intended to broaden understanding of the interrelationships of door planning and manufacturing, according to the educational institute's website. The participants should receive a solid basis for the professional future in the door industry. The focus of the 8-day course is as follows:

- Understanding safety aspects
- Understanding and technically implementing building physics requirements for doors
- Assess the serviceability of doors

The training seems to have met with a great response. In any case, the second course is already running and there are still a few places available for the third. (rs)
