This process should be actively shaped and discussed in Switzerland. The Digital Day is the annual platform for this dialog and presents developments, opportunities and risks of the transformation to a broad public. The Changes can be experienced and grasped on Digital Day. Experts, business representatives, politicians and the general public are working together to shape Switzerland's path to becoming a leading global innovation center.

Over 80 partners at twelve locations

More than 80 partners of the Digital Day bring the facets of digitalization to the public at twelve locations throughout Switzerland. Digitization with free activities. President Ueli Maurer and Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin have taken on the patronage of Digital Day. The Federal Council underlines the importance of the event with the presence of Simonetta Sommaruga. With this new format, digitalswitzerland is putting dialogue and critical debate about digitalization at the heart of this year's Digital Day. Visitors to the Digital Day will have the opportunity to take part in discussion rounds in a World Café format about changes, hopes and fears relating to digitalization. Digitization with experts. Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin will kick off this series of events in Bern as part of the Digital Day, which will take place at almost all locations. "Digitalization is not a force of nature. "tell" offers the ideal opportunity to do this," says Diana Engetschwiler, overall project manager for Digital Day. The "tell" highlight will certainly be the participation of Federal Councillor Simonetta Sommaruga on the evening of the Digital Day in Bern. digitalswitzerland will evaluate the findings from all "tell" events together with a research cooperation between the ZHAW, FHNW and the University of Zurich and publish a report.

Official opening in Bern and activities throughout Switzerland

The highlight of this year's edition of Digital Day is the official opening by President Ueli Maurer in Bern. For the first time since the launch of Digital Day, the federal capital is the venue for the opening event. After the President's address and a live broadcast to the language regions, two special trains will leave Bern station, one to the east and one to the west. They symbolize the fact that Digital Day is a national day of action.

On September 3, 2019, visitors to Lugano, Lausanne, Yverdon-les-Bains, Geneva, Chur, St. Gallen, Basel, Bern, Zurich, Biel/Bienne, Vaduz and Thun can look forward to events, discussions and expos on all aspects of Digital Day. A moderated stage program with talks, dialogue formats, live broadcasts and startup pitches will take place throughout the day at Zurich Main Station.
