DIN EN 16763: first experts with certificate

Installers recognized according to VdS 3403 already met all the requirements of the new EN standard 16763 for fire protection, according to the VdS institute. Around 100 "Errichter 2.0" were the first experts to receive the certificate.

At the beginning of April 2017, the standard DIN EN 16763"Services for fire safety systems and security installations", has been published. It regulates the Europe-wide minimum requirements for the planning, installation, commissioning, inspection, acceptance and maintenance of fire safety and security systems. Regardless of the scope of the project and the size of the companies designing and/or installing the systems, the standard now applies to work on safety systems, both on site and remotely.

VdS, the institute for corporate security, has already optimized its recognition for installers of the important hazard detection technologies last year, as the company writes. The still young "Errichter 2.0" offers a combined procedure for up to three specialties (fire alarm, intrusion detection, video surveillance systems). The offer not only makes it easier for the numerous "combination installers" to obtain and maintain VdS recognition, but also already included DIN EN 16763 in 2016, which was still being developed at the time, VdS writes.

DIN EN 16763 has been in force since April 2017. This means that each of the almost 100 "VdS installers 2.0" to date also receives, additionally and free of charge, the certificate as a service provider for security systems in accordance with the aforementioned standard. VdS is thus the first institute in the world to present its recognized partners with certificates in accordance with the new EU standard.
