Euralarm: new guide for approved filling stations

The Euralarm organization has published a new document: The Guide for Approved Filling Stations outlines the key issues and how filling stations can deliver the performance expected by the end user.

Clean agent systems use gases that leave no residue and are effective against fires in the early stages of development.

Important quality control

Filling containers, whether as an initial fill or when a container needs to be refilled, is an essential part of quality control: They ensure that systems are functioning as intended. To maintain clean agent system functionality, proper refilling is an important activity. For retesting of containers prior to refilling, refer to the Euralarm Guidelines for Periodic Testing of Transportable Gas Containers in Fire Extinguishing Systems.

What does the new guide address?

In the new euralarm-"Guide for approved filling stations", the following topics will be covered:

  • the different types of service station employees who can refill the system containers
  • the training by a qualified third party or an original equipment manufacturer
  • the inspection of containers before refilling
  • the process documentation
  • the personal safety
  • important additional steps for a correct filling process
  • the necessary equipment

The guide also includes a bibliography as a reference to other important documents and relevant standards.

Copies of the "Guide to Approved Filling Stations" and the "Guide to Periodic Inspection of Transportable Gas Containers" may be obtained from the Euralarm website can be downloaded.
